Apartment in a Box

One of the true fundamentals of living green is doing more with less. I keep coming back to this subject, particularly since it presents such a pure design challenge. How do we move away from the destructive paradigm of the sprawling suburban home? In my own city we are seeing many new developments selling 600sf condo apartments. At first glance this seems unreasonably constricted compared to what most of us are used to. But why not take this as a challenge, to live comfortably, with style, and not feel continually inconvenienced by your small space?


Enter the Casulo, a room in a box, designed by Marcel Krings & Sebastian Mühlhäuser. A small 31″x47″ (80 cm x 120 cm) box contains all the furniture a typical apartment bedroom, or student room requires.
